As I sat and enjoyed the many different soups and the company of friends, I was so saddened that you couldn't be there with us. My Prayers are with you, a most generous and caring man..We are blessed to have you as our Pastor.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19802617.post-1141342797737721442006-03-02T18:39:00.000-05:002006-03-02T18:39:00.000-05:00I wasn't out and about yesterday morning, so I did...I wasn't out and about yesterday morning, so I didn't do my usual double-take at people with smudged foreheads...even aware that it's Ash Wednesday, the symbol is still striking enough to catch me offguard.

Then I saw ash-crossed foreheads in two places after the service last night. (Incidentally, it felt strange without you, Claire, Ania, and Ben there - you were missed. I was grateful for Suzy's assistance and gifted sense of liturgical presence.) First was a checker at ShopRite...also Cathy from church, so there were at least 3 of us there!

And then the most unexpected - on TV! First on the news and then...Stephen Colbert on the Colbert Report! I listened long enough to assure myself it wouldn't be a totally sacrilegious "bit", and then turned it off - not sure what his point ended up being, but it was a first - I've never seen this on TV before!

Half-way point is nearing - stay well and rested.
RobinAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19802617.post-1141314011225939672006-03-02T10:40:00.000-05:002006-03-02T10:40:00.000-05:00Great to hear that you made it through the third c...Great to hear that you made it through the third chemo. 50 % done - and you are doing so well. Thanks for being such a great encouragement in my life. I know what you mean about the ashes - I had to work last night so could not go to the soup supper (first time we have missed in years) so I went with a co-worker at lunch to a Catholic Church because I wanted ashes - just felt like I needed to remind myself about what is important. Anyway - hope to see you Sunday.
RADAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
